“If I only had more time.”
“I ran out of people to talk to.”
“I can’t afford it.”
“If only I had more upline support.”
And on and on and on. EXCUSES.
If you’ve spent any time building a Network Marketing business, you’ve undoubtedly heard these excuses and more. Or perhaps you’ve even been guilty of using some of these excuses yourself.
It’s okay. We all have. When things don’t work (or aren’t working) it’s natural to want to pinpoint why they’re not working. And usually we boil it down to some circumstance or situation holding us back from achieving ultimate Network Marketing success.
But here’s the problem with that.
First, as we discussed in the previous post, the only thing really holding you back is YOU. Accepting responsibility for where you are in life and business is both scary and empowering. Scary because you have to come to terms that you’re the reason things may not be going so well. Empowering because if your’e the cause of things going bad, then you can be the cause for things going good.
But here’s the biggest reason why you need to let go of excuses: Because you give away complete control. Excuses create a mindset that you have no influence over your success or failure, that everything in your network marketing business rests on conditions and circumstances outside of your control. And if that were truly the case then what hope is there to make any significant changes or improvements in your business?
So if you find yourself giving excuses repeatedly no matter legitimate (and especially if it’s the same excuse over and over again), STOP. If you don’t, they’ll always be your excuses. Instead of saying “I don’t have enough time” go a step further and and ask “How can I make more time?” Turn your excuses in to opportunities for finding solutions. This ultimately is the mindset you want to cultivate as an entrepreneur.
Commit to making this mental shift and watch your Network Marketing business and your LIFE take a turn for the better.
